DENTAL IMPLANTS
The dental implants have entered in the contemporary dental treatment with an immense suc- cess rate. Under the condition of choosing the best qualitative implant and its profociently technically implementation, the success percentage steadily meets 99%. The dental implant is an imitation of a root tooth, made of titanium suitably processed, so to be perfectly biocompatible with the human body. The main advantages of implants are:
-
The preservation of the bone in the position where the implant is placed;
-
The integrity of adjacent teeth in the position the implant is placed;
-
The replacement of dentures with solid bridges on implants by their consolidation in these.
The placement of implants constitutes a rather simple and painless process, which is carried out in the surgery via local anaesthesia. It is evident that most patients that have implants, state that the annoyance after their placement was much more mild than what they had expected. In the meantime, transitional restorations are always used. As far as the cost is concerned, the implants are by far more economical in relation to the initial implementation period, due to mainly an increase in their commercialism and the quality improvement of the usable materials. On the whole, the beneficial link of oral hygiene and cost of implants– placement, proves clearly that the latter one consists of the most appropriate treatment.
