EDUCATION - TRAINING
Training in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at recognized centers of America (MAYO CLINIC, IOWA CARVER COLLEGE OF MEDICINE) and Europe (Na Homolce, 3rd Department of Surgery Charles University).
He has a Ph.D. from the Medical School of the University of Athens under the degree 'Excellent'.
He holds a Master's degree from the University of Athens in Minimally Invasive Surgery.
He holds the titles PHTLS, ATLS, BSS.
He has particular experience in dealing with critically ill pa- tients, and work in multidisciplinary ICU of University Hospital. He has participated in addressing urgent surgical cases under the guidance of recognized value of the Surgeon Carol Scott Conner, who has written a sufficient number of surgical textbooks for basic education for young surgeons.
TEACHING WORK
He has worked as a research associate of the First Surgical Clinic of the University of Athens with the participation of stu- dents in undergraduate medical education.
He worked as a teacher in the public IEK of Ambulance Unit. As a guest speaker he has participated in the educational program of the MAYO Clinic and two postgraduate programs (Harokopio University, University of Athens).
He has worked as an instructor in medical training simulators in Laparoscopic Surgery at the University of Athens.
He has been a speaker at the annual Postgraduate courses
of the Intensive Care Unit of General Hospital "LAIKO" at the annual Postgraduate Surgical technique in Surgery Clinic at the University of Athens and an instructor in the program of primary health care within emergency policies and security.
Organizational Work
He has been a member of organizing or scientific committees in Greek Conferences, symposia and workshops, as well as State Bureau at round tables. He has participated in Health Support Organization major sporting and artistic events that took place in Greece, as the final of UEFA Champions League, the Final Four in basketball and the Eurovision Song Contest. A special moment was the health organization and coverage of the semi-marathon event in the Special Olympics, as well as the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Games Special Olympics - Athens 2011.

He is an editorial consult in the board of several medical journals recognized by the main Surgical Laparoscopy, Endoscopy & Percutaneous Techniques

One Day Care Surgery
The process of –one day surgery– is that whereby selected patients covering certain specific criteria, are admitted to either a hospital or a clinic, are undergone surgery, hospitalized for a few hours and exit on the same day. Dr. Michail uses one-day care procedures according to the international protocols.
