DIMITRIS GALAKTOPOULOS DDS, MSc, MOrth
CERTIFIED ORTHODONTIST, DENMARK AND GREECE
Born 1st of July 1978 in Athens, Greece
Acquired his dental degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2004 (DDS)
He worked in private as a general dentist from 2004 to 2007, with clinical interest in orthodontics and pediatric dentistry (during which time he also fulfilled his military service, which in Greece is obligatory, working as a military dentist from 2005-2006).
In 2007 he completed a 3 months program, “Short-Term Course in Orthodontics” at the Royal University of Aarhus in Denmark.
He then followed and completed the full term 3 years specialty in Orthodontics from 2008 to 2011, at the same University of Aarhus Denmark (MOrth)
He acquired his certification as an Orthodontist specialist from the Health Department of Denmark (SST), upon finishing his specialty training (2011).
On the 16th of November 2011 he was also certified as an Orthodontist (specialist) in Greece.
During his specialty training he did clinical research, resulting to a Master Thesis which was written and defended separately from his specialty by external examiners (MSc).
The results of his clinical research were presented during the 88th European Orthodontic Symposium, in Santiago de Compostela in 2012.
Since 2012 he is running his own private clinic in Heraklion, Crete, Greece, which is limited to Orthodontics.
He has a research co-laboration with the Aarhus University.
He is a member of the European Orthodontic Society (Subscriber Number: 81463798), World Federation of Orthodontists (Membership ID: 14007430), American Association of Orthodontists (Membership ID: 14007430).
As well as the Euroasian Association of Orthodontics, European Federation of Orthodontic Specialists Associations, Greek Association for Orthodontic Study and Research, Greek Orthodontic Society, and Stomatologic Society of Crete.
